Care on your terms, starting when you say so

Private duty means you are the one directing the care. You decide the days, the hours, and the tasks — and you can change them next week if the situation changes. There is no functional screen to schedule and no program to enroll in first.

Our private-pay rate is $28–$32 per hour, and what moves it within that range is hours per week, the level of hands-on help needed, and whether the shifts fall on evenings, weekends or overnights. You get a written schedule and an invoice you can hand to a long-term care insurer.

Families often start here after a hospital discharge, when a Medicaid application is still pending, or when the authorized hours simply do not cover the whole day. We can combine private duty with Medicaid hours in the same week.

Private duty home care questions

What is private duty home care?+

Private duty home care is one-on-one, non-medical care at home that the family arranges and pays for directly, rather than through Medicaid or an insurance authorization. You choose the hours, the tasks, and the schedule.

How much does private duty home care cost in Milwaukee?+

Our private-pay rate is $28–$32 per hour depending on hours, level of care, and schedule — evenings, weekends and overnights sit at the higher end. There is no long-term contract and no minimum commitment of months.

How is private duty different from Medicaid home care?+

The care itself is the same. The difference is who pays and who decides: with Medicaid, the authorized hours come from a functional screen; with private duty you set the hours yourself and can change them week to week.

Can we start private duty while a Medicaid application is pending?+

Yes, and many Milwaukee families do. We begin privately so care starts right away, then switch the billing over once Family Care, Partnership or IRIS approves the hours.

Does long-term care insurance cover it?+

Usually yes. We provide the visit notes and invoices most long-term care policies require for reimbursement, and we can also work with VA Aid & Attendance benefits.

What is the minimum number of hours?+

We build schedules from short daily visits up to full days. Call (414) 348-4600 and we will tell you honestly what the situation realistically needs.
