Frequently Asked Questions

Find comprehensive answers to common questions about how Careforth can help you.
Am I a caregiver?

Great question! Many times, we see ourselves as just a spouse, partner, parent, child, sibling, grandchild, friend, etc. helping someone. However, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services caregivers are defined as family members, friends or neighbors who provide assistance to a person with a chronic illness or disabling condition. If this sounds like what you are doing—you are a caregiver.

How much do your programs cost?

Our programs are free! They are covered under a health plan or through a state Medicaid program at no cost to you.

Can I get paid to be a caregiver and how much money could I receive?

Yes, you can be paid for the care you give if you qualify for Structured Family Caregiving. The amount of pay is determined by each state’s individual program requirements and the complexity of care needed. Eligible caregivers may earn up to $3,190 per month.
